Taylor Alison Swift was born December 13 1989. Her discography covers a variety of genres. Her songwriting - often inspired by her personal life--has been praised by critics and received extensive media coverage. Born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville at age 14 to pursue a career as a country singer. In 2004, she signed an agreement to write songs with Sony/ATV Music Publishing and in 2005, she signed a recording contract with Big Machine Records. The self-titled debut album she released in 2006 was the first female country artist to record a U.S. platinum-certified album. Swift's subsequent albums, Fearless (2008), and Speak Now (2010), were a focus on country pop. The tracks "Love Story", and "You Belong with Me" from the first album were the first songs to have top of the U.S. all-genre and pop charts. Red (2012) was her first experiment with electronic and rock styles. It featured her first Billboard Hot 100 number one track, "We Are Never Ever getting Back Together". She has also renounced her country style on 1989 (2014), her synth-pop album. This album was supported by chart-topping singles "Shake It Off", “Blank Space, and "Bad Blood". Reputation, a hip-hop-flavored album that featured the top-selling song "Look at What You Did to Me" Me Do", was the result of media attention. Exiting Big Machine, Swift signed with Republic Records in 2018 and released her seventh studio album, Lover (2019), which was followed by her autobiographical documentary Miss Americana (2020). With her 2020 albums Folklore & Evermore Swift delved into alternative music and indie folk. The two singles "Cardigan" and "Willow" were atop the Hot 100. Swift began recording her first six albums again after an argument with the masters. Two of the albums were reissued in 2021--Fearless(Taylor’s version) and Red (Taylor’s version). The longest-running track on the Hot 100 was "All Too Well (10 Minute version)". Records for streaming all time were broken by her 2022 album Midnights, and the single "Anti-Hero". Swift has directed music videos and movies which include All Too Well: the Short Film (2021) and All Too Well: the Short Film (2021), and also playing supporting roles in many others. Swift is one of the top-selling artists ever. She has sold over 200 million copies worldwide. Swift is the most streamed female on Spotify and is the only artist to have five albums open with more than one million copies sold in the US. There are 12 Grammy Awards for Swift, including three Album of the Year win nominations and an Emmy Award and 39 Billboard Music Awards. Additionally, she has 92 Guinness World Records. Swift was included in the Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Singers of All Time, Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Artists and Forbes Celebrity 100. Swift was awarded Artist of the Decade and Woman of the Decade for her work in promoting artists' rights and women empowerment, has been honored with a variety of awards.
